Ayloradia - Nick Pike

Ayloradia - Nick Pike

Ayloradia is the fourth studio album from neoclassical composer and pianist Nick Pike.

Following Nick’s debut piano, string and electronics album ‘Norastoria’ (2024), his more relaxed sleep piano album ‘Evergreen’ (2024), Phraxia (2025) which took impressive solo piano compositions with more texturally rich pieces, weaving both synthesiser and electronic elements, ‘Ayloradia’ is a return to the semi-orchestral forces of ‘Norastoria’ but with the experience of several albums of experimentation behind him, highlighting his jazz-infused neoclassical style in different but complimentary lights.

If you like to be simultaneously relaxed and excited, calmed yet emotionally stirred, and you find that you resonate with the musically interesting styles of Neoclassical composers such as Ludovico Einaudi, Max Richter, Yiruma, Alexis Ffrench, Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahms then Nick Pike’s ‘Ayloradia’ is for you!

‘Ayloradia’ (as both a track and an album) is a romantic and beautifully piano-led piece featuring live strings and percussion. The piano part for ‘Ayloradia’ is one of Pike’s favourite pieces from his release ‘Evergreen’ (‘Moonbloom’ 2024), making this more of an orchestration of existing work. Pike felt that the melodic and musical potential of the original ‘Moonbloom’ was lovely but that it definitely had more to give. ‘Ayloradia’ is a realisation of that.

Pike released several singles before the main release in June and they have already proven popular on playlists championing focus, study and work sounds as well as with relaxation, reading and cinematic playlists.

‘Pariah Dance’ and ‘Arcata’ are both cut from the same stylistic cloth. Both using a building piano, adding lush strings as the intensity grows with elements of electronics adding a hint of mystery. ‘Edenflower’ is a much more traditional emotional piano and strings arrangement, bursting with passionate melodies and more lush strings, it is both relaxing and full of cinematic drama.

Whilst on the subject of cinematic drama, the first single ‘Cassian Rising’ is probably the most bombastic piece from the album and seems to be the favourite in streaming stats (so far). The piece is so named because Pike finished up the final cello session and was in hospital within the hour - his wife had gone into labour during the session with their first child. Cassian was born several hours later, hail and healthy, and it would have been wrong not to have acknowledged that in some way. ‘Cassian Rising’ is a powerfully uplifting ending to the album and has some gorgeous harmonies.

Nick Pike’s ‘Ayloradia’ is out on June 17th 2026 on all streaming platforms.
